ACT has replaced the Workshop program with two new programs to further the Educational development of its members:
Scholarship Fund
Individual scholarships are available to members of ACT affiliated groups who have belonged to a group for a minimum of 2 years. $1000 has been set aside annually to cover these scholarships. The monies will be allocated on a first- come-first-served basis.
The scholarships are to offset costs associated with furthering individual ACT members with theatrical, eduational programmes. This could be acting, lighting, sound, make-up, directing, or costume related. Any educational course, workshop or summer school which will enhance the progress of community theatre in Manitoba will be considered as appropriate to the criteria. Travel costs will not be included in the scholarships. The scholarships are not available for credits towards a post secondary eduational programme. All monies will be forwarded to successful applicants on presentation of receipts verifying attendance after the event. At the same time a report concerning the course should be submitted.
By providing these scholarships it is the intention of ACT to support community theatre in Manitoba by advancing skills development among members.
